Normally I do my convention reviews as soon as I get home but my job is taking up a lot of my time recently. Forgive me for posting this so late! My friends and I arrived at the Gaylord National Convention Center on Thursday around 2:30 p.m. Our room was on the 8th floor facing in towards the atrium and after I unpacked, I change into my Thursday costume Hipster Lady Rainicorn and went to rediscover the convention center. It was very quiet and most people didn't show up until around 3 or 4. This year instead of spending an arm and a leg on food, I was wise and packed my own. Katsucon was my third anime convention, the second being Otakon XX, and the first being Zenkaikon VII. Admittedly, after Otakon (you can read my review of it here: https://christinecosplay.deviantart.com/journal/Con-Review-Otakon-20-2013-392727326) I was a bit scared of what kind of experience I was going to have. I always try to go into new experiences with an open mind but when you get burned, it's hard to ignore.     My first Otakon experience was definitely one to remember. Sadly, not for good reasons. The weekend started out gloomy on Thursday when my favorite band, The Slants, got rained out during the Matsuri Music Festival. It truly bummed me out but I was hoping to see them perform the following night at a nearby club.     Friday, I stumbled across their Dealer's Room stand by complete coincidence and found out that they had performed earlier in the day.
